Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is the comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).

NTP is an indicator to see the level of ability / purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.

In February 2021, the NTP of North Sumatra Province (2018 = 100) was recorded at 114.69 or decreased 0.23 percent compared to the NTP in January 2021, which was 114.96.

The decline in NTP in February 2021 was caused by the decline in NTP in two sub-sectors, namely the NTP of the Horticulture sub-sector, which fell by 0.52 percent and the NTP of the People's Plantation sub-sector by 0.75 percent. Meanwhile, three other sub-sectors experienced an increase, namely the NTP of the Food Crops sub-sector by 0.61 percent, NTP of the Animal Husbandry sub-sector by 0.10 percent, and NTP of the fisheries sub-sector by 1.73 percent.

Changes in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rural inflation / deflation rate. In February 2021, there was rural inflation in North Sumatra of 0.08 percent.

The Exchange Rate of Agricultural Household Enterprises (NTUP) of North Sumatra Province in February 2021 amounted to 116.64 or decreased by 0.27 percent
